This week, “International Dwarfing Day” was celebrated, and “The Little Big Family” star Tori Roloff decided to answer some questions on the subject on Instagram.
Among other things, Tori reported that her son, Jackson, has achondroplasia, as is his father, Zach, and his grandmother, Amy.
When asked how the family would deal with bullying in the future, Tori said she and Zach will not ignore or confront but will let Jackson decide what to do, deal with this and all his own issues, but will support him with what he needs.
About whether Jackson would have some kind of problem in his legs, Tori said he is not sure, but he thinks doctors will probably want to have early surgery for the child to grow up better.
Tori also joked that Zach often asks her to pick up things he can’t reach because he “loves pushing more work” for her. She said she believed the expecting baby had a 50 percent chance of dwarfism.
Tori said Jackson has no spinal or bone injuries, but people with achondroplasia need to be monitored for it.
The star also cited that both families approved of their relationship from the start, and that some of the bad times she and her husband experienced in public involved people believing in the streets that Zach was a child or even his son.
As for children’s questions related to the dwarfism problem, Tori said they should not be condemned.
“If a child asks, answer!”, Tori said. “Our answer is always the same: ‘it’s because God made me that way’.”
